Colic in horses is a common occurrence. The vast majority of cases are of a nervous nature. It could be called vegetative imbalance. Nux vomica as well as Bryo-nia have an undisputed effect on the digestive system. Aluminium and Aesculus have a positive effect on constipation and colic, the latter also having a proven effect on the circulation. Chamomilla has a strong antispasmodic effect, which is further enhanced by Nux vomica. The effect of Chamomilla was once compared to "Buscopan i.v." by an experienced veterinary homoeopath. The advantage, apart from the rapid effect of this complex, is that the animals often remain free of complaints and relapses for a long time.
